Darraweit Guim, Darraweit Valley Road - bridge design/investigation

The Darraweit Valley Bridge is located over Deep Creek on Darraweit Valley Road, Darraweit Guim, 1.4km from Romsey Road intersection.

Resurfacing of the bridge is expected to start on 24 June 2024 and to be completed by the end of June 2024.

At this stage, a bridge closure is scheduled for 27 June 2024 from 9am to 3pm, weather permitting. Delays are expected while the bridge is closed and detours are in place.  Please allow extra time if travelling in the area.

Additionally, Council officers are planning to undertake other urgent repairs and maintenance works to the bridge within the coming months.

In the interim, Council has engaged a specialist bridge engineering firm to further investigate the current load limit of the bridge. Upon completion of this analysis, Council officers will consult with the local community to discuss potential future management strategies for the bridge.

These works are funded by the 2023/24 Capital Works Program.
