Stand for Council

The next Council elections will be held in October 2024.

Nine Councillors are elected by the residents and ratepayers of the shire for a four year term.

The roles of Mayor and Councillors are varied and can be deeply satisfying. If you are interested in how to stand for Council, you can find out more at:

Candidate information sessions

Council partnered with the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) to host a Candidate Information Session on Wednesday 15 May 2024.

Women X Stand for Council

In the lead up to the 2024 Victorian local government election the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) is encouraging greater participation of women in local government as councillors, in recognition of their under-representation in this space.
