ANZAC Day Commemorative Services Grant
ANZAC Day Commemorative Services are significant for local communities as they honour and remember the sacrifices made by Australian and New Zealand service members during times of war.
Prior to 2022, organisations that coordinate ANZAC Day services and marches could use volunteers or local Emergency Services to assist with traffic management. This practice is no longer permitted, as the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) requires all traffic management to be designed and conducted by qualified personnel, resulting in significant traffic management costs for ANZAC Day Commemorative Services.
At the March 2025 Council Meeting, Council endorsed the ANZAC Day Commemorative Services Fund to assist community groups with expenses associated with traffic management control, ensuring the safety of participants.
This fund is available to community organisations that have traditionally organised ANZAC Day Commemorative Services and need financial support to cover traffic management costs for safe event delivery.
Applications for the 2026 ANZAC Day Commemorative Services Fund open at 9am on Monday 28 April 2025 and close at 11pm on Sunday 25 May 2025.
