Cloverleaf Corriedale Stud

Producing artisanal yarns and fibre arts; from the farmer to you.

Products are 100% single source from Cloverleaf and processed to yarn within 2 hours of the farm. Items are hand dyed.

At Cloverleaf Corriedale Stud we are first generation farmers focused on contemporary and sustainable land and animal management practices, custodianship and ethical animal participation. The sheep are part of the farm family and their wellbeing is the priority; they remain in family groups and we choose gentle shearers, are not mulesed and their well-being and care comes before profits.

The Corriedale was bred simultaneously in New Zealand and Australia from the 1870's by crossing the Merino with the heavier English breeds the Lincoln/English Leicester/Romney, with the Corriedale stud book closed in 1910. The Corriedale has a very large frame well covered with wool. The medium fleece has a staple length of 125 - 150mm and averages 25-32 microns. Corriedales produce a lustrous long staple which is popular with beginner and experienced spinners and is used for a range of handspun, artisanal and homewear items.
