Fire alert - Willowmavin - 22 February 2025

There is a fire not yet under control in Willowmavin, currently travelling in a southerly direction - towns in the east of our shire covered by the alert include Chintin, Darraweit Guim, Monegeetta, Romsey and Springfield.

Total Fire Ban and Extreme Fire Danger Rating - 22 & 23 February 2025

The CFA (Country Fire Authority) has forecast an Extreme fire danger rating and declared a Total Fire Ban for Saturday 22 February 2025, and again for Sunday 23 February 2025, for the Central district (which includes the Macedon Ranges). Some facilities will be closed. The Campout at Hanging Rock event has been cancelled.

Environmental Works Plans for Waterways - Port Phillip and Westernport

The plan is designed to deliver cost-effective waterway and biodiversity management outcomes at the landscape scale. The plan is broadly consistent with the policy and management objectives provided in the Macedon Ranges Biodiversity Strategy (MRSC 2018) and Melbourne Water’s Healthy Waterways Strategy (MW 2018).

This plan was endorsed by Council at the 26 May 2021 Scheduled Meeting.
