Fire alert - Willowmavin - 22 February 2025

There is a fire not yet under control in Willowmavin, currently travelling in a southerly direction - towns in the east of our shire covered by the alert include Chintin, Darraweit Guim, Monegeetta, Romsey and Springfield.

Total Fire Ban and Extreme Fire Danger Rating - 22 & 23 February 2025

The CFA (Country Fire Authority) has forecast an Extreme fire danger rating and declared a Total Fire Ban for Saturday 22 February 2025, and again for Sunday 23 February 2025, for the Central district (which includes the Macedon Ranges). Some facilities will be closed. The Campout at Hanging Rock event has been cancelled.

Romsey Structure Plan

The Romsey Structure Plan replaces the Romsey Outline Development Plan (2009). It provides a vision for the town, guidance for growth and development and outlines a protected settlement boundary for the town. The plan was adopted in May 2024.
