Woodend, High Street Service Lane - Pedestrian safety improvements

Council, in partnership with the Victorian Government as part of the $23 Million Safe System Pedestrian Infrastructure Program (SSIP), has completed pedestrian safety improvement works in High Street in Woodend (in front of the newsagency).

The SSIP program aims to improve safety at popular activity areas for pedestrians and other vulnerable road users.

The works included removal of the existing platforms on either side of the service lane, and installation of a raised pedestrian platform (wombat crossing).

We would like to thank residents, businesses, and road users for their patience as works were being completed.
