Macedon Ranges Planning Scheme Review
A planning scheme sets out policies and requirements for the use, development and protection of land.
The policy and planning framework that applies to the Macedon Ranges is contained in the Macedon Ranges Planning Scheme. It includes planning guidance common to all municipalities across the State, as well as policies specific to our local area.
What is the Planning Scheme Review project?
All councils are required to regularly review their Planning Schemes to ensure they are up-to-date and provide clear and relevant guidance for the community, developers and planners.
The review of the Macedon Ranges Planning Scheme involves analysing the local parts of the Planning Scheme including the Municipal Strategic Statement, local planning policies and the schedules to the Zones, Overlays, Particular Provisions and General Provisions. These are the tools that are used to determine how best to use, develop and protect land within the Shire.
The review analyses the scheme by considering the following questions:
- What are the key issues to be addressed in the Planning Scheme Review having regard to the current performance of the scheme?
- What are the possible options or solutions that could be explored to address issues?
