Agricultural waste

Council offers a number of options to dispose of agricultural waste safely and sustainably.

bagMUSTER

bagMUSTER is now available at our resource recovery facilities.

bagMUSTER collects and recycles agricultural plastic bags (single-use woven polypropylene bags used for fertiliser, seed, grain, stock and pet food), transforming them into new products rather than being sent to landfill.

How the program works

  1. Purchase eligible bags - made of polypropylene (PP)
  2. Collect and store until you are ready to recycle them
  3. Prepare the bags
    - Clean, empty, and free of mud or residue
    - non plastic labels removed if possible
    - Inside out if possible
  4. Drop-off to one of our resource recovery facilities in Kyneton, Romsey or Woodend
  5. We'll send the bags off to be recycled.

 

ChemClear

ChemClear provides a safe collection and disposal service to all agricultural and veterinary chemical users across Australia.

drumMUSTER

We participate in the drumMUSTER recycling program that allows you to dispose of empty chemical containers at our Kyneton resource recovery facility for recycling at no cost.

drumMUSTER is a national program that allows for the collection and recycling of clean and eligible chemical containers.

Dry and triple-rinsed containers and drums marked with the drumMUSTER symbol are accepted.
