Agricultural waste
Council offers a number of options to dispose of agricultural waste safely and sustainably.
bagMUSTER is now available at our resource recovery facilities.
bagMUSTER collects and recycles agricultural plastic bags (single-use woven polypropylene bags used for fertiliser, seed, grain, stock and pet food), transforming them into new products rather than being sent to landfill.
How the program works
- Purchase eligible bags
- Collect and store until you are ready to recycle them
- Register the bags on the bagMUSTER website
- Prepare the bags (shaken out, liners removed)
- Drop-off to one of our resource recovery facilities in Kyneton, Romsey or Woodend
- We'll send the bags off to be recycled.

We participate in the drumMUSTER recycling program that allows you to dispose of empty chemical containers at our Kyneton resource recovery facility for recycling at no cost.
drumMUSTER is a national program that allows for the collection and recycling of clean and eligible chemical containers.
Dry and triple-rinsed containers and drums marked with the drumMUSTER symbol are accepted.
