Resource Recovery Resale Shops

Resale shops allow residents to donate their unwanted household goods, tools, toys and lots more for resale at bargain prices. This means that good quality materials are kept out of landfill and in the hands of those who need them.

If you have items to donate, check with your local op shop first to see if they are currently accepting donations. Find out more about donating to op shops.

Achievements so far

We received a grant from Sustainability Victoria, which helped to complete works at the Kyneton Resale Shop and establish a second shop in Romsey, which officially opened in July 2024.

With the help of our staff who collected, sorted, shelved and priced items, we achieved some great results since launch, diverting 25.75 tonnes of unwanted items from landfill in the 2024 calendar year.

This included:

  • 167 bicycles
  • 118 items of furniture
  • 64 lawn mowers
  • Approximately 18.8 tonnes of steel
  • 150 electrical items
  • 1,806 miscellaneous items.
