Go Local First
We are urging local consumers to do their bit to help economic recovery by buying locally from small businesses in their communities.
To help encourage more local shopping, Council is participating in a nationwide campaign being delivered by the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA). The GO LOCAL FIRST campaign will be rolled out on outdoor, broadcast, and digital advertising over the next six months with the simple call to action for Australians to spend locally first.
GO LOCAL FIRST will encourage us to choose local small businesses when we are purchasing products and services to help get the economy back on its feet, keep locals in jobs and money in our local communities. We know that our small businesses are the heartbeat of our community and, when they thrive, we all benefit.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, some small businesses have done it tough and sadly some won’t be reopening. Others have been able to adapt to serve customers and keep staff employed. Businesses need all of us to back them now by ‘going local first’ when you need to buy a product or service.
Council will be rolling out its own GO LOCAL FIRST social media campaign featuring local businesses. We will also do a flyer drop and provide materials for businesses to display in the coming weeks.
