Citizen science Clover Glycine survey - Black Hill Reserve
Next date: Friday, 01 November 2024 | 10:00 AM
to 12:00 PM
Help us survey the rare and threatened species, Clover Glycine at Black Hill Reserve.
Join local volunteer citizen scientists to survey new areas of Black Hill.
Black Hill Reserve has an expanding population, which is only visible for a couple of months a year, as it emerges in spring and disappears back into the ground before the Summer heat arrives.
The reserve population is still recovering after the 2015 bushfire, which impacted 80% of the reserve. The community survey provides essential data to improve our understanding of the extent of the populations.
Each year, new areas are surveyed providing an opportunity for a unique guided walk off trails with Martin Roberts, Bushland Reserves Officer.
What you need to know:
- Wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear.
- These walks are weather-dependent. We may cancel an event at short notice due to severe weather conditions such as extreme fire danger, wind and rain. We will give you as much notice as possible.
