Introduction to bike maintenance and repair

Transport is the shire's second highest contributor to our local community emissions.

By just changing the way we take those short trips to the supermarket, we can make a big impact on reducing these transport emissions.

This workshop is designed for those that are curious about bike maintenance but don't know where to start.

What you'll learn

  • Essential bike maintenance tools and techniques
  • Tips and tricks from a professional bike mechanic
  • How to perform basic maintenance, safety checks and repairs

Registration is essential, limited availability. No prior mechanical experience required.

Meet the facilitator

Matt the Bike Ranger, is a fully qualified bike mechanic [Zweiradmechaniker] from Germany. After working in the bike industry for a few years, Matt got into engineering but always kept his passion for bikes. Matt will:

  • Demonstrate best practices for bicycle maintenance
  • Share tips and tricks
  • Answer ALL your bicycle-related questions

What to bring

  • You can bring your bike or specific questions, but we won't service
  • Comfortable, dark-coloured clothing
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm!
  • All materials will be provided
