Tour thriving local gardens and discover how fresh, healthy and local produce is grown sustainably from growers and members of the Kyneton Transition Hub community.

What to expect

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, this event is a great way to learn, be inspired, and meet with like-minded community.

Garden 1

  • A small garden of approximately 6 years old. It includes citrus trees in containers, wicking beds, a fan-trained apricot tree, herbs, self-seeding greens, Bokashi and tumbler composting and bird, insect and lizard-attracting gardens of local indigenous plants. The communal driveway food garden has espalier fruit trees, herbs and seasonal vegetables. Wheelchair access available for most of the garden
  • Open: Sunday 16 March, 10am - 1pm

Garden 2

  • A newly established vegetable garden utilising retainer walls and terracing in the back of a steeply sloping property. Potted fruit trees and thornless blackberries, raspberries, and red currants, and a composting bay area just about to be built. No wheelchair access.
  • Open: Sunday 16 March, 1pm - 3pm

Garden 3

  • A family plot in the front of the house, custom made by the family who had tended to it over the past 4 years. Growing vegetables for every season and using permaculture principles to grow produce. Limited wheelchair access.
  • Open: Saturday 22 March, 10am - 12pm
