Sustainable House Tour: Passiv Haus Plus in Kyneton

Join us for an exciting and insightful Sustainable House Tour, where innovation meets comfort and cost savings!

This event offers a unique opportunity to explore leading, energy-efficient homes designed to minimise environmental impact while maximising comfort and style.

Learn how passiv haus principles can create a contemporary ‘country shed’ home that’s has climate resilience at the heart of it.

Topics explored on the day include:

  • Continuous high level of insulation
  • Achieving no thermal breaks or bridges
  • Airtight buildings (less than 0.6 ACH)
  • Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery
  • Assessing high-quality components e.g. triple glazed windows-quality components
  • Bi-directional EV battery capabilities
  • Whole-of-property management e.g. landscape revegetation and restoration.

The architectural brief was for the building ’Two Sheds’ to be a modern interpretation of a rural shed/house in commonly used materials, to be designed and built to Certified Passiv Haus Plus standard.
