Walking and Cycling Strategy
Access to shared trails, or joint walking and cycling routes, is the focus of Council's Walking and Cycling Strategy which aims to promote healthy lifestyles in the shire.
The development of the strategy included extensive consultation with relevant organisations, walking and cycling groups, a Community Reference Group, Council officers and feedback from the wider community.
Council has completed staged upgrades of the Campaspe River trail converting it into a shared walking and cycling trail, and the endorsement of two shared trail feasibility studies, both of which were priority actions included in the strategy.
As part of Council’s annual budget process the strategy’s implementation plan is reviewed and actions implemented as resources become available.
