This recurring renewal program for the 2023-24 financial year aims to renew and resurface sections of Council-managed sealed roads across the shire, to improve safety and amenity.
We aim to identify and treat these roads proactively before they sustain serious damage, to save further work and costs at a later stage.
Spray sealing
Spray sealing is a road renewal process that involves a thin film of bituminous binder being sprayed onto a road surface, then covered by a layer of aggregate. The binder acts as a waterproofing layer and prevents water entering the underlying road structure.
Sections along the following roads have been identified for spray sealing:
This program of works is expected to start in early February 2024 and be completed by early March 2024, weather permitting.
Minor delays are expected on these roads during these works, with traffic management and detours in place where necessary.
