Public transport options
There are a range of public transport options available throughout the shire, including buses, trains, taxi services, and patient and supported transport.
These services are subject to change. Please check with the service provider directly to confirm your transport plans.

Buses
Town bus services
Please note that from 15 December 2024, a more flexible bus network is coming to Gisborne with more services and improved coverage of new estates and more schools. Find out more via the Public Transport Victoria website.
- Kyneton Town Bus Service: route maps and timetables are available on the Public Transport Victoria website.
- Lancefield, Romsey and Clarkefield services:
- there are three bus routes to connect Lancefield to Kyneton and Sunbury. Full details are available on the Public Transport Victoria website.
- V/Line's Barham to Melbourne (via Heathcote) bus service passes through Lancefield and Romsey each day. Services must be booked. For further information, visit V/Line.

Royal Flying Doctor Service
The Royal Flying Doctor Service provides non-emergency patient transport including admission, discharge, medical appointments and inter-facility transfers across hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, specialist medical services, nursing and retirement homes.

St John Ambulance Victoria
St John Ambulance Victoria provides the St John Community Transport Service, transporting patients from home to hospital or between health care providers.
Call 1300 785 646 between 8:30am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Campaspe Family Practice
Patients can request transport assistance when they book their medical appointment to transport them to the hospital precinct.

Travellers Aid
Connection Assistance
The Connection Assistance Service assists people with mobility needs who are transiting through Southern Cross Station. Operating from 6:30am to 9.30pm, 7 days a week.

Companion Service
The Companion Service provides volunteer companions to meet you at a public transport hub in Melbourne or Seymour, and using public transport, can accompany you to and from:
- Medical appointments
- Social activities
- Events/attractions
- Work
- School/education

Multi-Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP)
MPTP assists with the travel needs of people with accessibility and mobility needs by offering subsidised commercial passenger vehicle fares to members.
